The start of tomorrow

Myself and my dog Harry (the ginger prince) and our journey to start a dog business. I've always had a real desire to work with dogs. It's been a real passion of mine for as long as I can remember. I own my first dog at 4 and I can always remember how bonded I became each and everyone I had from that point on. After another life-changing event (a stage 3 cancer diagnoses) a few wks ago, I've decided I'm going for it. What is holding me back? Money? Is that a valid reason to not follow your dream? I've started my social media accounts (please, please do try to find me themuttshack, some of the social media has Ireland at the end). So today I enrolled for a pet care diploma and registered as a dog minder with Gudog. I'm really excited about the future and not letting anything stand in our way. After all millions of people are running successful businesses based around their passion, why can't I 😍

Thinking out load

I’m starting to think about all the options available to me. What services and products I can provide, which will give me a wide range to minimise the risk of failure. Due to my day job, I'm limited in what I can commit to and need to really consider both sides of my life. After all, I don't I want to ever let the dogs down. It’s always great to visualise what you want so you can make an action plan. I’ve been in buying for the majority of my career and I have a skill set which could bring so much to a new business. My ideal would be to run my own grooming/services business (something very hands-on with dogs, they are the reason I want to move industry) but this is the long term dream and one I’ve had for many years. The training I would need to ensure I am a reputable groomer takes a long time but is something I want to have in my future plans. For now, I will start my diploma in pet care and start to build a product range that I can be proud of ❤️ If anyone out there has any ...
